PSL 5: Peshawar zalmi beat Islamabad by 7 runs under Duck Worth Luis system


Rawalpindi: In the 20th match of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United by 7 runs under the Duck Worth Luis system.

Peshawar Zalmi was given a target of 196 runs by Islamabad United but the game was stopped due to rain during Peshawar's batting.

Due to the rain, Duck Worth Luis system Method was imposed and Peshawar Zalmi was declared winner by 7 runs.

Zalmi and Islamabad United played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Luke Runner and Colin Monroe from Islamabad United started the innings but Luke Runner was caught out by 6 runs while Rizwan Hussain also proved to be the guest of 5 runs.

 Colonel Monroe and Shadab Khan stepped up their team's score after two wickets fell and both players scored fifties.

Colin Munro was out for 52, while Shadab Khan also played a good innings of 77 runs with 4 sixes and 5 fours.

Islamabad United scored 165 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, while Hasan Ali (2), Wahab Riaz, Brathwait and Rahat Ali (2) were dismissed by Peshawar.

Kamran Akmal and Imamul Haq started the innings from Peshawar. Al-Haq failed again and was dismissed for only 7 runs.

Kamran Akmal was also dismissed for a total score of 64. He scored 37 off 21 balls.

Zalmi Peshawar scored 85 runs in 9 overs for a loss of two wickets that the match was stopped due to rain.

At that time Zalmay needed 111 runs to win in 11 overs and Tom Benton and Haider Ali were on wickets, but due to constant rain the first match was restricted to 11 overs and then the Duckworth-Louis system was implemented. Zalmi won by 7 runs.

After winning the match, Zalmai Peshawar came in second with 9 points in eight matches. Multan also ranks first with 9 points.

Islamabad is third, Karachi fourth, Quetta fifth and Lahore sixth.

Prime Minister Imran Khan met Javed Afridi, captain Darren Sammy and Mentor Hashim Amla, owners of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar.

During a meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan conferred on Darren Sammy the honorable citizenship of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Sammy's role in the restoration of international cricket in Pakistan is worthy of praise.
On the occasion, Imran Khan said that the entire PSL is happening in Pakistan and the presence and enthusiasm of the large number of fans is encouraging. It is a positive message of Pakistan to the whole world.

It is thought that Darien Sammy will be honored with honorary citizenship and civil award by President Arif Alawi on March 23 on Pakistan Day for the restoration of cricket in Pakistan.

The Karachi Press Club has also decided to give Darien Sammy and Quetta Gladiators mentor Sir Vivian Richards an honorary membership.

The tenth match of the Pakistan Super League 5 is being played between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans at Multan Stadium, 

where the Karachi team has decided to field by winning the toss against the Multan Sultans. Multan Sultans' innings started with Moin Ali and Zeeshan Ashraf, but only 31 overall scorers Zeeshan Ashraf came out.

A change has been made in the Karachi Kings team, Arshad Iqbal has been replaced by Omar Khan while Multan has also been changed. Ravi Bopara has been added to the team instead of James Vince.

Kamran Akmal scored a brilliant century against the Quetta Gladiators and thus became the first player to score in the fifth edition. This is Kamran Akmal's third century overall in the Pakistan Super League.

Ahmed Shehzad, who came in third, could not play more openly and scored 12 runs off 12 balls.

After losing two wickets for 50 runs in eight overs, captain Sarfraz Ahmed supported Jason Rai and both scored 62 runs in the fourth wicket partnership. Quetta's fourth wicket fell to 112, while Sarfraz was dismissed for 41 off 25 balls.
After Sarfraz was dismissed, Jason Roy remained firm on the wicket but failed to put up big shots in the last over, while fifth-grader Azam Khan and sixth-ranked Mohammad Nawaz also failed. Both came out with 5 and 2 runs respectively.

From Quetta, Jason Roy was unbeaten on 57 off 57 balls while Wahab Riaz of Peshawar Zalmai scored 21 runs in 4 overs to take 2 wickets.

Kamran Akmal continued the aggressive game and combined with Haider Ali to score 126. Haider Ali was dismissed for 25 on the occasion

Shoaib Malik also returned to the pavilion by 7 runs. On the occasion, Kamran Akmal scored the first PSL Five and third overall in the PSL, however, he was caught out on the next ball as he scored.

He scored 101 off 55 balls with four sixes and 15 fours. After that, Livingstone and Liam Dawson did no further damage and easily hit the target.

From Quetta, Fawad Ahmed took two wickets, Sohail Khan and Time Mills each.

Kamran Akmal was declared the best player of the match on a brilliant century.

Zalmai Peshawar suffered a defeat to the Karachi Kings in their first match yesterday while defending champions Quetta won against Islamabad in the opening match.

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test Rankings.

According to the latest ICC rankings, Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has made it to the top five for the first time in the Test batting rankings.


According to the rankings, Indian batsman Virat Kohli is first, Australia's Steven Smith second, Marns third and Ken Williamson are fourth, while Babar Azam is fifth.

Babar Azam has progressed from tenth to seventh to fifth position in the Test series against Bangladesh.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister expressed happiness over being part of the famous South African batsman Hashim Amla as Mentor Peshawar Zalmi in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Meanwhile, Imran Khan said that Peshawar Zalmai had played a vital role in the success of PSL.

The Prime Minister further said that the fifth edition of the PSL will be a fully historic event in Pakistan.

In addition, the Prime Minister also said that Pakistan Super League has also played an important role in the return of international cricket in the country.

It should be remembered that foreign players from Peshawar Zalmai (PSL) had come to Pakistan for the first time in the first edition of the final match. In addition, Zalmai Peshawar has made it to the semi-finals twice and 1 time. The title has made its name.

Remember that PSL Season 5 starts in Karachi from February 21, with Zalmi and Karachi Kings competing in the inaugural match.
