Registration of YouTube, Facebook and Twitter is mandatory in Pakistan



 Islamabad: It has been mandatory for social media companies including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to set up office within 3 months.

According to News, the federal cabinet has approved new social media rolls, and registration of global social media platforms has been made mandatory in Pakistan in 3 months.

All companies, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, are obliged to register and it is mandatory for companies to set up offices in the federal capital within 3 months. Media companies have also been conditioned to appoint a liaison officer in Pakistan.

There may be action against institutions and those who talk about national security. The National Coordination Authority will be set up to regulate social media companies, shut down accounts on targeting of domestic companies, prohibited content and harassment complaints. The authority will take action against non-removal of videos against social media companies and their services will be suspended if the companies do not cooperate.
